The SAFE Counselling Centre is unique in its provision of a variety of comprehensive services to the Afghan-Canadian community. What you can expect from us is compassionate, culturally appropriate, and client-centered services. We offer the following services to our clients:


  • Education/Awareness/Training: there are educational workshops held every Wednesday evening at SAFE from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Child care and subway tokens are provided. The educational workshops are held in partnership with SAFE, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and Across Boundaries.

YOUTH ADDICTION PROJECT:

The Access Workers responsibility is to raise awareness of addiction issues amongst Afghan youth and its effects on the individual, their families and the community as a whole. The worker will provide support groups for Afghan youth, help individuals to work on goals of addiction prevention, harm reduction or abstinence, and to create healthier options to help youth empower themselves. This project is in partnership with Center for Addiction and Mental Health.
